Ukraine has launched a “stop list” of citizens who are banned from gambling establishments

According to the report of the Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission (GRAIL), Ukraine has officially launched its registry of people who will not be allowed to enter gambling establishments in the country. The relevant document is available on the official website of the Ukrainian regulator.
It is noted that on June 16, the “black list” was launched in test mode. It contains the names of citizens who have been banned by the body from visiting casinos, slot machine halls, betting shops and lottery sales outlets.
When adopting the law on legalization of gambling in Ukraine, the authors of the document prescribed a norm that every citizen of the country who wishes to take part in gambling entertainment must undergo a mandatory identification procedure by providing true and current passport data.
The bill puts forward basic requirements that operators will be guided by when admitting persons to their gambling facilities. The first and most basic is the age of 21 years or older. The second is the absence of problems related to financial obligations (alimony, subsidies, large loans, benefits). The total amount of debt obligations of a particular person must not exceed 250 000 hryvnia. The important nuance of the law is the norm that expenses of the person on gambling cannot exceed his income per month.
“Limited and incapacitated citizens shall not be admitted to the sphere of gambling. In addition to them, admission is prohibited to those who are on a separate Register of persons who cannot use the services of gambling operators,” the document reads.
Note that within the Ukrainian jurisdiction will also work the list of self-excluded persons. It can be filled by the citizens themselves, who personally want to ban their participation in the gambling business. To do this, it is necessary to write and submit a corresponding application directly to the gambling operator or to address the Commission on Gambling and Lottery Regulation.
Recall, according to the expert, the legalization of gambling business in Ukraine has become a stimulus for the development of business activity.
