“Oschadbank” Ukraine officially received a gaming license KRAIL

The Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (GRAIL) has issued another license. This time, rather unexpectedly for most experts, the license was granted to one of the largest financial institutions – Joint Stock Company “State Savings Bank of Ukraine” (Oshchadbank), and not to a particular operator or a hotel complex. It is reported that the Commission allowed gambling in the premises owned by the state body.

Its activities in the Ukrainian gambling industry “Oschadbank” will deploy on the basis of the Kiev hotel Ramada Encore Kyiv. The institution has four stars and can place objects of gambling entertainments, including casino, halls of slot-machines and poker tables on own territory. The total area devoted to the corresponding activity is 1,008.2 square meters.

It is noteworthy, but the management of “Oschadbank” appealed to the Commission on Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries for the issuance of specialized license a month ago. However, then the agency did not accept the request, arguing its position with the fact that the applicant incorrectly executed the necessary documents.

We also note that the Commission for establishing categories of hotels added the complex Ramada Encore Kyiv one star, so it could apply for a license KRAIL. However, according to the Ukrainian media, the application for upgrade was sent only an hour before the meeting of the agency began. But this did not stop it from getting the request approved.

Earlier the Gambling and Lottery Regulation Commission decided that the owners of hotels of three stars and above may apply to the relevant authorities for the provision of enhanced status, which will allow to place objects of gambling entertainment (casinos, slot machines halls, poker rooms and sports betting) on its territory.

Recall, according to the expert, gambling business in Ukraine does not even think to enrich themselves at the expense of cheaters.
