Ministry of Finance of Ukraine will track winnings of citizens in online casinos
Chairman of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine David Arahmia revealed details of the bill on the legalization of gambling. According to the deputy, the authorities plan to track the spending of citizens in online casinos with the help of special programs.
“Special software will be installed on the servers of the Ministry of Finance to keep track of how much people spend at these online casinos. How much they win and how much they lose. And a percentage will be charged on every winnings,” Arahmia said.
Thus, the replenishment of the budget through the legalization of gambling will come not only through tax deductions from the operating companies, but also through the payment of taxes on winnings from online casino customers.
The head of the Servant of the People faction also said that the key objective of the bill is to combat illegal land-based casinos. According to him, now on every corner there are such institutions because of which a lot of Ukrainians suffer from addiction to cheating. This allegedly leads to an increase in thefts and other crimes. MP confirmed the previously circulated information that the casinos will operate exclusively in large 5-star hotels.
