In 2021, gambling operators will provide Ukraine with 7.5 billion UAH

The sale of licenses to operators of gambling business in 2021 could send to the budget of Ukraine about 7.5 billion UAH. This information was confirmed by the representative of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada Daniil Getmantsev.
“The state budget of Ukraine for 2021 provides for the inflow of funds from the legalization of gambling business. The lion’s share of this money the state will receive from the sale of licenses to operators who are already ready to enter our market. Between them and the Ukrainian authorities are now completing the final negotiations. Permits for lottery operators will also contribute their share,” said the official.
Also MP is sure that the proceeds from the launch of gambling business funds will be able to close some holes in the Pension Fund. At the moment the Pension Fund of Ukraine has at least 18 billion hryvnias deficit. Consequently, according to Getmantsev, the money from the sale of licenses to operators of gambling entertainment will cover about a third of the missing funds.
Earlier information about the interaction of the Gambling Industry Association (BGC) with the Ukrainian authorities to increase revenues from gambling business. Thus, according to preliminary estimates of the organization, this figure can be increased by three times, if the amendments to the current gambling law, proposed by analysts.
Also BGC experts believe that the price of Ukrainian gambling licenses for operators is unreasonably high. This circumstance is the reason that some large international companies refuse to enter the Ukrainian gambling market, as a result of which the state budget can lose several billion hryvnias.
Recall that the Council of Federation obliged Russian social networks to block illegal gambling content.
