Curacao authorities want to tighten licensing of online casinos

The government of Curacao intends to tighten the legal regulation of gambling. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Kenneth Gaysbertha. The official said that gambling has a huge potential for growth, which could be a solid pillar for the local economy.
According to the head of the CuraƧao Ministry of Finance, the gambling industry needs more control. Such a statement could mean that the authorities intend to regulate the lucrative field on their own to generate additional revenue and increase the value of the license.
The Curacao gambling sector has been in operation for more than 25 years. The issuing of permits is handled by four organizations, to which the state has issued master licenses: Curacao eGaming, Antillephone, Gaming Curacao and e-Management N.V. Today, the Curacao license is one of the most common in Russian-language online casinos, as the regulators have no special requirements for operators and almost no control over their work after the permit is issued.
