Construction of a gambling zone in the Crimea will begin in 2021

The head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov officially announced the start of construction of the first on the peninsula gaming zone “Golden Coast”. The implementation of this project will start in the first quarter of 2021.

A complete list of investors has already been compiled, who are currently negotiating all the details of interaction. The first person of Crimea confirmed the information that the gambling zone will be located near the village of Katsiveli.

Among other things, Sergey Aksenov noted: “This industry will allow to finance budgets of absolutely different levels.”

In December it became known that the council of the Republic of Crimea on investment issues decided by a majority vote to approve the construction project of the first gambling zone in Crimea. The total amount of funds needed to implement the initiative should amount to 3 billion rubles.

The project involves opening a ground casino and a five-star hotel complex on an area of 15 hectares. The completion of all works is planned for 2024. According to preliminary estimates, as a result of the Crimean gambling business will create at least 250 new jobs.

According to the calculations of the RK Ministry of Economic Development, the budgets of all levels of the peninsula will receive about 402.7 million rubles within five years after the launch of this investment project.

It is important to recall that the decision to create the “Golden Coast” gambling zone on the territory of the Crimean peninsula was made last autumn by Dmitry Medvedev, who at the time served as prime minister of the Russian Federation.
