Casinos in Primorye in 2020 recorded a decline in revenues

The executive director of JSC “Corporation of development of Primorye Territory”. Igor Trofimov in his interview revealed some financial details of the Primorye gambling zone. According to the functionary, in 2020 the objects of the casino-resort sent to the budgets of different levels of taxes less than in 2019.

Thus, the region’s treasury received a total of 207 million rubles from Primorye casinos. Compared with the previous 12 months, the deficit was 34 million.The state budget account was sent about 94 million rubles (in 2019, this figure was 216 million).

Such a significant drop in financial data Trofimov explained by the introduction of a number of preferential rates for gambling business in the region. During the deterioration of the situation with the spread of coronavirus, the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Krai approved the reduction of the fiscal burden on local casinos. The size of the reduced rates became as follows: 50,000 rubles of taxes had to be paid by operators for one table for table games and 3,000 rubles for each slot machine. Before the quarantine these figures were at 125,000 rubles and 7,500 rubles respectively.

The initiative was implemented as part of the authorities’ program to support projects with an investment component, distinguished by a strategic purpose.

It is also important to note a significant drop in the attendance of the Primorye Gaming Zone. In 2020, 68,000 fewer tourists were recorded here than in 2019. The drop was 24%.

According to Igor Trofimov, after the removal of the package of strict restrictions, the profitability of IZ will grow several times. This will allow, as previously expected, the tax deductions of representatives of the Primorye gambling business to be directed to various social initiatives and the development of the casino-resort “Primorye”.
