Casino banned near schools and hospitals in Armenia

The Armenian government at a regular meeting has reviewed and adopted a resolution according to which casinos and betting offices will be prohibited in the immediate vicinity of educational institutions and cultural and historical sites. The document also restricts the location of gambling establishments near hospitals and administrative buildings.

In the capital city, Yerevan, the radius of prohibition will be 150 meters, and for other regions this figure will be 100 meters. Separately, the restriction for Vayots Dzor, Syunik and Tavush regions is worth mentioning, where it will be only 50 meters.

The bill separately prescribes the area of gambling rooms in each establishment – it must not exceed the mark of 200 square meters. At the reception, which is obligatory in every casino and slot machines room, visitors’ documents will be obligatory checked. Resolution strictly regulates the age of admission to gambling entertainment – from 21 years. Also, the casinos will not be allowed to the persons recognized by the court as addicts.

Recall that Russia will tighten oversight of tax revenues from individuals’ gambling winnings.
